VSPAC | SAMANTHA KATE
Samantha was born and raised in Brooklyn and began studying dance at VSPAC at the age of six. At the age of 16 she began assisting and has since then become a faculty member. Samantha then went on to major in dance at the Repertory Company High School for Theatre Arts. Throughout her dance career, she has had the opportunity to study ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, pointe, hip hop, salsa and acro. She studied under the direction of Vicky Simegiatos, Despina Simegiatos and Matina Simegiatos. She also had the opportunity to study with Kat Wildish, Tracie Stanfield, Charles Askegard, Slam, Caitlin Gray and Latrice Gregory. Samantha has performed in various VSDC productions including “The Nutcracker”, “The Wizard of Oz”, “Coppelia”, and many others. She has also competed in several dance competitions and won numerous national overall awards. Samantha is now a highly sought out teacher and is Despina Simegiatos’ official personal dance/choreographer assistant. Her students love her positive energy and all the love and nurturing she gives to them.
